In-person Lab Simulations in Tucson
Interprofessional education (IPE) plays an important role in completing a student's healthcare learning journey. ASTEC provides a variety of IPE simulations, all of which are available any UArizona Health Sciences student. These activities are all one-hour in length and held in the ASTEC lab in the Health Science Education Building. There are several simulations available, that will assess your strengths and weaknesses and team building skills. The simulations are held in a smaller setting, and spaces are limited.
In-person, credit-bearing IPE course
Health Sciences Design Core Courses are credit bearing courses that are open to any student on campus interested in exploring human-centered approaches to meeting health care needs. This is an interprofessional program that engages undergraduate, graduate and professional students in problem-solving for human health. The program offers a unique innovation space that includes advanced equipment and expert faculty and staff. Along with design thinking, courses allow students to explore ways to improve human health through human-centered and community-based practices, interprofessional collaboration, and the use of emerging research and technology.
