Interprofessional Education Virtual Outpatient Clinic

Virtual Outpatient Clinic

This AI-powered chatbot allows health science students to explore a variety of fictional patients and initiate one-on-one conversations designed to support practice and person-centered communication. Learners can view presenting concerns, select a patient, and begin a simulated dialogue to practice:

  • Building rapport
  • Eliciting a complete list of concerns
  • Responding with empathy and understanding
  • Interprofessional awareness

How To Use

  1. Click "Virtual Patients" on the bottom right
  2. Review available patients and chief concerns
  3. Click a patient to chat (90+ languages supported)
  4. To select a specific patient, ask for them by name
  5. Start by saying, 'hello' to the patient, introduce yourself, and ask them, 'how they’re feeling'.
  6. Type "full list of patients" to view all available cases

Post-Chat Evaluation

  1. End your patient interaction by saying "goodbye" and receive your personalized feedback.
