Community Action Poverty Simulation

November, March, & June

This is a 3-hour in-person interactive, immersive experience, in the College of Nursing building. Poverty is a reality for many individuals and families. But unless you’ve experienced poverty, it’s difficult to truly understand. The Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) bridges that gap from misconception to understanding. It sensitizes community participants to the realities of poverty. Participating Colleges include Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health and Nursing. Please note, nursing students must be enrolled in NURS 473 to participate in this activity.
